Mona Lisa

What a week. Renaissance presentation done and Mona Lisa dumped in the lecture theatre. Concept for Wood Wharf sorted, now I just have to draw it, hmmm could be a problem. Today spent building graphs, I am an expert on Eastbourne demographics.

Anyway at least I got out of tree felling. Husband up a tree.

Conservation - Knole Park

2 visits to Knole this term and a group survey completed. Last week, we each took a historical layer of Knole and presented this to make the story 'come alive'. I presented on Lady Anne Clifford, she didn't do much at Knole but went on to create Wilton gardens in Wiltshire with Isaac de Caus. Maybe some of these ideas could be brought through to the CMP..

Wood Wharf

I think I have a concept for the Wood Wharf site.... Wood Wharf is in the Docklands, sitting right between Canary Wharf, some fancy new flats and not too far from Poplar and Limehouse. The site is as yet undeveloped but the brief is to design a temporary space to house corporate tents with a focus on the Olympic weeks next year.

After a bit of investigation, I looked into the records for the long jump, high jump and pole vault for the 1908, 1948 and current world records. Quite a difference. Got to try and get this across in a concept, am thinking scaffolding walk ways at the different heights. This is my mood board...

Dynamic Composition

Taking the photoshop images created last week, all 4 models put together to create a dynamic composition.

Colour Swatches

On Trace

On Paper

16 different colours, different mediums onto paper and trace and then printed. The colours are totally different once printed!

Model Making Stage 2

This is an axo of my model 'complexity' and a trace of it scanned in at 400dpi black and white.

I photographed the model from different angles then added it to different landscape photographs in photoshop to explore scale and shape. The addition of a person gives the model and landscape perspective.

Very large - I think this works well, the model lends itself to being a large feature

People were added at 300 dpi but some came out quite fuzzy, I don't think the model works well at this smaller scale. The complexity is lost.

Model Making

Model: Complexity

Model making this week. We were given words for inspiration and created models from a sheet of A3 in 5 minutes. 3 of mine suffered from structural faults and were somewhat unsuccessful but model 1 worked well. Represents: Complexity.

8 sketches

8 squares on a page, each filled with an imaginary space, a person and a horizon line in different medias. Here I've used technical pen, pencil, watercolour pencil, pastel, promarker, wax crayon, charcoal and italic pen
